Fortunately, the object of the fetishists is an earthquake shack, so it could be moved to the Zoo. But not before the owner had to pay thousands of dollars to determine exactly what kind of earthquake shack it was.
This is sadly reminiscent of the recent attempt by some to preserve Quonset Huts in the Mission and Bayview. Next they'll be filing suit to save Conex Boxes at former mini-storage sites.
